It all started with a little cult spoof film “Fluffy the English Vampire Slayer” - a very British, and a little bit silly, homage to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. One of the features of Buffy episodes was an unsigned band playing in the background somewhere. Fluffy had to have one too of course; and so Noscaferatu was born. Except they didn’t actually appear in the film - it’s hard enough to get them all in one room at the same time. But the music does.
And with a double reference, the band name also of course pays tribute to the legendary Anthony Head >>
Or actually, we’re just addicted to the brown stuff...
Noscaferatu band members are about as diverse as you get, variously involved with progressive rock, experimental, industrial, heavy metal, jazz, funk, ambient and fusion. Which probably makes it impossible to pin down. Except just to say that it is what it was intended to be :
